79-year-old with diabetes admitted with fever and hip pain.

PET shows uptake along the iliopsoas and the right hip joint……air in the bone in the epiphysis, metaphysis, diaphysis and in the iliopsoas collection

While we do sometimes see air in the bones and soft tissues due to the vacuum phenomenon….

…this is just abnormal
