Case 1:
This was also COD 227.
74-year-old lady presented with pain in the right shoulder and episodic bleeding.
The radiograph showed flattening of the humeral head, Inferior subluxation, remodeling of glenoid, calcification/ossification in the joint/bursa.
The MRI done a few months prior showed destructive arthropathy with remodeling of glenoid, effusion with hemorrhage and floating pieces of bone
Subsequent studies a few months later showed marked destruction of the shoulder joint.
Case 2:
50-year-old man with a left ankle arthropathy. He had a history of right 5th toe amputation. He was a known case of severe axial spondyloarthropathy with enthesitis and marked canal stenosis as a result. Also severe diabetes.
X-rays showed destructive left tibiotalar and subtalar arthropathy with enthesitis and pieces of bone.
MRI showed disorganized joints with bone resorption, effusion, minimal marrow edema and synovial hypertrophy and bone pieces
The video discusses both cases in detail, the diagnosis and the importance of the “floating pieces of bone”.
